Richard is a Yorkshire based Landscape Photographer.
Richard was born and grew up in the village of Tickhill, where the Watkinson family goes back many generations. Richard spent his first 25 years there in the village, until moving to Sprotbrough, a picturesque village nestling around the Don Gorge.
Richard has always had an interest in photography from the early
age of 12, when he started a journey in photography with a Zenith SLR camera, a gift given to him that Christmas from his parents.
Richard is predominantly self taught, but has also studied and gained a diploma in the subject. His work has recently won him an award in the genre of Food Photography, a subject close to his stomach!
Throughout this journey he has used many different types of cameras, lenses and has practised many different techniques.
His current kit is as follows;

Richard's work can be varied, however his greatest passion lies within Landscape Photography. He has long been an admirer of the peaks and dales of Northern England and loves nothing more than capturing both their beauty and mood.
His late Father, Ralph, was and is a great influence to him. Like Richard, Ralph was a lover of the hills and vales of England and he possessed the talent of being able to paint the views that moved him in Oils. Richard still shoots with his Dad close to his heart, hoping that he would appreciate his current portfolio and vision.
